Cipriano C. Ayala, 60, a U.S. Customs agent died Jan. 20, 2007 in Nogales, Ariz. He was a life-long resident of Nogales, served in the U.S. Army and was awarded a Purple Heart.

He is survived by his wife, Francisca; daughter, Marina Martinez (Heriberto); sons, Omar Ayala (Doreen), Jesus Ayala (Yvonne); brothers, Jessie Ayala, David Ayala; sisters, Norma Silva, Sandra Ayala; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were Jan. 25 with interment in the veterans' section of the Nogales City Cemetery. Arrangements were by Martinez Funeral Chapels.
